🌊 New Offshore Proof newsletter: accelerating offshore innovation together

The second Offshore Proof Newsletter is out!
This edition highlights how the European collaboration project continues to make progress in accelerating offshore innovation, with updates from across Europe, new tools, and inspiring meetings between researchers, companies, and test facilities.

About Offshore Proof

Offshore Proof brings together partners from five countries, including Campus@Sea, united by one common goal: bringing sustainable offshore technologies to market faster and safer through real-world testing.

Co-funded by the Interreg North-West Europe programme, Offshore Proof connects test facilities and knowledge partners across Europe. By aligning standards, certification practices, and applied research, the project helps bridge the gap between innovation and real-world application at sea.

💡 Sharing knowledge and building collaboration across Europe

In recent months, Offshore Proof has truly been on the move.
During the Community of Practice meetings, the SWIM Workshop hosted by Blue Cluster in Leuven and the Fraunhofer IFAM “Meet the Members” event in Hamburg, dozens of partners came together to exchange insights on testing methods, certification, and offshore innovation.

On international stages such as EWTEC 2025 and the WaTERS Workshop in Madeira, cooperation within the network was further strengthened. Offshore Proof shared its vision on how European test sites can complement each other to accelerate offshore innovation and reduce risks.

🧭 The Role of Campus@Sea

As the Dutch partner in Offshore Proof, Campus@Sea represents the Maritime Testing Ground and the Offshore Test Site in Scheveningen, locations where innovations are tested directly under real North Sea conditions.

During the WaTERS Workshop in Madeira, Campus@Sea presented how the Netherlands is investing in maritime testing infrastructure and how collaboration between companies, research institutes, and governments is essential for a safe and sustainable offshore energy transition.

In 2026, Campus@Sea will host the next International WaTERS Workshop in Scheveningen, where the international offshore community will once again come together to connect innovation, sustainability, and safety at sea.

🧩 Tools for the future: The Certification Game

One of the topics featured in the newsletter is the updated version of The Certification Game, an interactive tool designed to make the certification process more accessible and engaging.

The game helps developers of new technologies understand, early in the process, which steps and documentation are required to successfully bring their product to market. The updated visual design also makes it a dynamic addition to workshops and events.
