Temporary Maritime Restrictions – June 2025

Due to the NATO summit taking place on 24 and 25 June 2025 in and around the coastal zone near The Hague and Noordwijk, the Dutch Ministry of Defence has announced temporary maritime security restrictions in the North Sea. These are published in the official Notices to Mariners (week 21, 2025).

What does this mean for maritime traffic and Campus@Sea operations?
Between 19 June 2025 at 23:59 and 25 June 2025 at 23:59, a restricted access zone will be enforced in the maritime area off the coast of The Hague. This includes parts of the Campus@Sea offshore test zone. Different phases of restrictions apply, particularly in the lead-up to and during the NATO summit.

A designated access corridor to the Port of Scheveningen will be available. Entry is only permitted with prior approval from the Harbour Master of Scheveningen, in coordination with the Joint Inter Agency Task Force North Sea HQ. Use of this corridor may be subject to inspection.

Additionally, the area around the Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm will also be temporarily restricted. Maritime passage or fishing activities in this zone are not permitted during specific time frames.

Important for visitors and test partners
Campus@Sea kindly requests all users of the offshore test area, consortium partners, and service providers to take these maritime restrictions into account when planning offshore activities between 19 and 25 June. Coordination with the Scheveningen Harbour Master is mandatory for vessels seeking access via the designated corridor.

Full details are available in Netherlands Notices to Mariners, BAZ 144(T)/25.

For any operational questions or scheduling issues, please contact the Campus@Sea team or the Port of Scheveningen Harbour Master directly.
