During the Scheveningen Innovation Week at Muzee Scheveningen, Campus@Sea contributes to practice based learning on water, coasts, and climate. Throughout the week, more than 250 pupils from grades 4–6 are introduced to innovation related to the sea.
Campus@Sea designed and supervises a spring tide model: an interactive setup that allows kids to experience what happens during high tide and how dike reinforcement and building with nature contribute to water safety. By experimenting with variables such as water levels, currents, and coastal shapes, children discover how technical and natural solutions can reinforce each other.
Campus@Sea promotes a future-proof blue economy: the sustainable use of the North Sea for energy, food, and ecosystem restoration. A core element of this mission is talent development. We invest in early exposure to science and technology, enabling the professionals of tomorrow to build skills such as critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and collaboration today.
Understanding water safety and the impact of (spring) tides and climate change.
Insights into nature-inclusive solutions along the coast.
Hands-on experience with designing, testing, and improving in practice.
The Innovation Week is a strong example of collaboration between education, culture, and innovation partners in the coastal region. Through our involvement, we connect local challenges to national transitions and bring science and practice closer together.
