The maritime sector faces major challenges: rising material costs, scarcity of raw materials, and the urgent need to produce more sustainably. At the same time, there are opportunities to make the sector more resilient through collaboration, innovation, and reuse.
During the CIRCO Track, organised by Maritime Sisters, CIRCO, the Municipality of Rotterdam, and the Province of South Holland, leading maritime companies are working together to develop concrete solutions for a more circular value chain.
Companies such as Heerema Marine Contractors, Royal IHC, Damen, TNO, AYOP, RemoraDocks, Bakker Repair+Services, and Eerland Shiprepair are exploring how steel components can be recovered, assessed, and reused efficiently.
